ORIGINAL+ skis are precisely tailored to your body, skiing style, and technique, with adjustments in ski width, length, stiffness, binding setup, and tuning.
THE O+ CUSTOM TECHNOLOGY
The underlying technology for building custom skis is our ski configuration software, ORIGO. It calculates the ideal individual ski configuration based on your personal data. Our ORIGINAL+ CUSTOM SKIS are then produced just for you in a patented, single-manufacturing process.
HOW DOES CUSTOMIZATION WORK – AND WHAT'S THE BENEFIT?
FLX - LONGITUDINAL FLEX (Ei)
What does it mean?
The stiffer your ski, the more stable it is
but harder to turn.
The softer your ski, the more agile
and easier it is to turn.
How is the adjustment made?
Adjusting the taper thickness of the wood core; using different types of wood (ash, beech, poplar, paulownia); various layers of Titanal, fiberglass, and carbon.
TRS - TORSION (Gj)
What does it mean?
The stiffer the ski in torsion,
the better the edge grip.
The softer the ski in torsion,
the more forgiving it is.
How is the adjustment made?
Different thicknesses of Titanal layers; varying thicknesses and fiber arrangements of fiberglass and carbon layers.
DMP - DAMPING
What does it mean?
The stronger the ski’s damping, the smoother it rides and the less it responds to shocks.
The lower the ski’s damping, the more lively it responds – both to the skier’s inputs and to impacts.
How is the adjustment made?
Use of different wood types; varying thicknesses of Titanal layers; selective use of vibration-absorbing rubber.
TUN - TUNING
What does it mean?
The sharper the edge angle, the more aggressively the ski responds and the sharper the edge. The flatter the edge angle, the less aggressive it is. The structure and finish of the base define the ski’s glide and turning characteristics.
How is the adjustment made?
Each ORIGINAL+ ski is tuned specifically to the typical snow and slope conditions in the geoclimatic region you define. Alternatively, you can select your preferred custom setup in the configurator.
MSK - WEIGHT
What does it mean?
Mass itself is neither good nor bad and is specifically defined by the intended use of the ski.
How is the adjustment made?
The weight is the result of each individual ski construction.
COL - DESIGN
What does it mean?
Currently, you can customize your ski in various design styles and build each style in your preferred colors. You can also add a name or initials to the design.
How is the adjustment made?
Your ski design is created using a digital heat transfer process – you can choose from 2.1 million colors.
BDG - BINDING SETUP
What does it mean?
You can order your ski with or without bindings. We offer a wide selection of bindings and binding plates, allowing us to further optimize your ski setup.
How is the adjustment made?
By using different binding plates, spacers, and types of bindings.
O+ SKI MANUFACTURE BERGHEIM-SALZBURG
Every ORIGINAL+ ski is manufactured at the O+ Ski Manufactory in Bergheim near Salzburg. Our production facility is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and skilled ski builders.
